1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to TrendHog, a commerce research and creative intelligence service operated by ChessReps LLC, including its website, product, support communications, and authorized integrations.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
We may collect your email address, account details, support messages, and the information needed to manage your subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe; TrendHog does not store complete payment card numbers.
Information from connected services
If you connect a TikTok Shop account, we may receive account and shop identifiers, granted API scopes, authorization tokens, and data returned through the APIs you authorize. We may also receive billing status from Stripe and authentication status from Supabase. If you connect Meta Ads, we receive an app-scoped Meta user identifier, the ads_read permission and its authorization token, advertiser account identifiers and settings, and the ad, campaign, ad set, creative, and media-identification fields described in Section 6. If you choose a video ad to remix, TrendHog also receives and stores that selected source video.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic logs. TrendHog uses PostHog for product analytics, error tracking, and session replay in production. PostHog records page and feature interactions and stores an analytics identifier in local storage. Form inputs are masked in replays, and admin pages are not recorded. TrendHog uses essential cookies for authentication and security. Saved videos are stored with your TrendHog account by Supabase.
Advertising measurement
TrendHog uses the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure and improve ads for TrendHog. We share page visits, completed registrations, checkout starts, and first paid subscriptions with Meta. These events can include purchase value and currency, advertising click and browser identifiers, the referring campaign, IP address, and browser information. Email addresses and account identifiers used to match conversion events are hashed on our server before they are sent to Meta. The browser Pixel does not receive your email address or account identifier from TrendHog. You can turn advertising measurement off under Your choices below.
3. How we use information
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve TrendHog.
- Authenticate users and preserve authorized settings.
- Process subscriptions and provide customer support.
- Operate requested TikTok Shop features and data views.
- Connect, select, and import Meta advertiser data requested by the authorizing user.
- Use a Meta video ad you select as the source for a Remix generation you request.
- Detect abuse, troubleshoot failures, and protect the service.
- Measure and improve advertising for TrendHog unless you turn advertising measurement off.
- Comply with law and enforce applicable agreements.
TrendHog does not sell connected-platform data or use it for targeted advertising, including ads for TrendHog. We do not reuse one advertiser's Meta data for another advertiser or TrendHog customer. Advertising measurement uses information from your own visits and transactions with TrendHog, subject to your advertising preference.
5. TikTok Shop data
TrendHog accesses TikTok Shop data only through approved interfaces and scopes. We use that data to provide the features requested by the authorizing user, secure the integration, and comply with TikTok's platform requirements. We do not use an authorization for unrelated purposes.
You may revoke TrendHog's TikTok Shop access through the applicable TikTok Shop controls. You may also contact us to request disconnection or deletion of data associated with your authorization.
6. Meta Ads data
TrendHog requests only the ads_read permission through Meta's login configuration. It uses that read-only authorization to confirm the connected Meta user, list the advertiser accounts that user can access, and import a current page of ads from the single advertiser the TrendHog user selects. TrendHog does not request permission to create, edit, manage, or publish campaigns or ads.
For advertiser accounts, TrendHog stores the account identifier, name, status, currency, time zone, selection, and synchronization timestamps. For an imported ad snapshot, TrendHog stores normalized ad, campaign, ad set, and creative identifiers and names; ad status; creative text, headline, description, call to action, and destination; and provider creation and update times. It also stores the ad's media type and, when Meta identifies exactly one video, that video's identifier and thumbnail URL. TrendHog does not store the raw Meta API response or the ad's video bytes as part of the account-wide import.
When you choose “Remix this ad,” TrendHog uses the encrypted authorization on the server to request that one video's temporary download URL, downloads a bounded copy, and stores it under an internal identifier scoped to your TrendHog account. The temporary Meta URL and access token are not exposed to the browser. The selected video and product or avatar references you choose are then processed by TrendHog's generation providers to create the output you requested.
Imported Meta data and selected source videos stay isolated to the TrendHog account and advertiser that requested them. They are not sold, pooled across advertisers, used to train a shared model, or used to create or serve another customer's output.
Connected advertiser data and selected source videos are never used to target or measure TrendHog's own advertising.
7. Data retention
We retain information while an account or integration is active and as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited billing, security, and transaction records where required for fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Provider backups may persist for a limited period after information is removed from active systems.
Production session replays are retained for 30 days. Product analytics and diagnostic events are retained according to our configured provider retention periods and may be kept longer when needed to measure long-term product performance or investigate service failures.
Advertising preference and attribution cookies last up to 90 days, and clearing your cookies returns advertising measurement to its default. When you turn advertising measurement off, TrendHog stops browser advertising events and removes its advertising attribution cookies and Meta browser cookies. A checkout already started while measurement was on may still report its completed payment. Changing your preference does not delete events already shared with Meta.
Disconnecting Meta Ads removes the encrypted token, advertiser accounts, imported ad snapshot, and stored Meta source-video copies from TrendHog's active systems. Generated outputs already created from those sources remain with your TrendHog account, but their Meta source preview may no longer be available for another remix. Deleting the TrendHog account removes the same data. A signed deletion request from Meta removes every covered connection that predates that request. TrendHog retains a pseudonymous confirmation receipt so a retry can return the same result without storing the Meta user identifier in the receipt.
8. Security
TrendHog uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. These include HTTPS, server-side secret storage, controlled production access, authenticated internal endpoints, managed cloud security controls, and separation of production and private development environments. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Meta access tokens are encrypted with authenticated encryption before storage, bound to the TrendHog user, and available only to server-side service code. Tokens, app secrets, raw Meta API responses, and Meta's temporary video download URLs are not sent to the browser or included in TrendHog analytics.

9. Your choices and rights
Advertising measurement is on by default and does not change your access to TrendHog. We keep it off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. You can turn it off below, and your choice applies to this browser.
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you. You may also ask to disconnect an integration or object to certain processing. Applicable rights vary by location and may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.
To make a request, email ethan@trendhog.io. You may also clear or block browser cookies and local storage, or use browser privacy controls that block analytics requests. Deleting your TrendHog account removes its active account data, including its connected Meta authorization and imported Meta data. Contact us if you also want analytics data associated with your account deleted.

10. Children
TrendHog is a business service and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the service.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as TrendHog changes. We will publish updates here and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate.
